Privacy Policy

Effective May 31, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Capacity in Reserve, LLC (“Podsmith,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use Podsmith (the “Service”).

1. Information we collect

Account information

When you register, we collect your email address, name (if provided), and — for password accounts — a securely hashed password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your basic Google profile (email, name, and a unique identifier).

Your content

We store the audio, video, transcripts, artwork, metadata, and related material you upload or generate, along with the workspace and show structure you create.

Usage and download analytics

When listeners fetch your episodes through our tracking redirect, we record events to produce download analytics. These events include a timestamp, user-agent, and referrer. We do not store raw IP addresses — IPs are one-way hashed with a secret salt before storage. We also keep operational logs and activity records of actions in your workspace.

Cookies

We use a single, sealed session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

2. How we use information

  • To provide, operate, and maintain the Service;
  • To process your content (mastering, transcription, summarization) and distribute it to the destinations you configure;
  • To generate analytics and reports for you;
  • To secure the Service, prevent abuse, and comply with law;
  • To communicate with you about your account and the Service.

3. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

  • Subprocessors that power the Service — for example, cloud hosting, object storage (e.g., Cloudflare R2), and authentication providers (e.g., Google) — solely to operate the Service;
  • Destinations you connect (e.g., RSS directories, YouTube, your webhooks), which receive the content and metadata you choose to publish;
  • Legal and safety recipients when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the Service.

Your published podcast feeds and episodes are, by their nature, public — anyone with the feed URL can access them.

4. Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account and content; we will delete or anonymize it within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., security logs).

5. Security

We use industry-standard measures including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and encrypted storage of third-party credentials. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected].

7. International transfers

We may process and store information in the United States and other countries. By using the Service, you consent to such transfers, subject to appropriate safeguards where required.

8. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

9. Changes

We may update this Policy. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date.
